Alison is a film director and moving-image artist based in Glasgow, with strong links to Shetland and the Outer Hebrides. She is drawn to characters who grow through their relationships with the natural world, and her work specialises in alternative cinema techniques with a focus on double perforated 8mm and 16mm film.
Alison’s short films Duck Daze (Screen Scotland commission 2018) and Free Period (2017), have broadcast on BBC Scotland and picked up awards at film festivals in the UK and internationally.
Alison is EIFF 2019 Talent Lab alumni, and in recent years has been commissioned to make films and music videos by Edinburgh International Book Festival and Folk duo ‘Heal & Harrow’. Her moving image work ‘Minn Beach’ was exhibited at the 2022 RSA Annual exhibition.
